Quality DVD - upconverts to 1080p
Have owned this for only 24hrs so far. It looks sleek and has a beautiful remote. I send audio via optical to my receiver and video via hdmi to my Panasonic plasma 42inch HDTV. For the technically challenged, use the user-friendly manual to set everything to your taste and this superb player will automatically upconvert your dvds for you. I have noticed that the sound quality is significantly improved over my 2yr old Toshiba dvd player even though I used optical for that too. Other bonus features in the remote include the ability to control your TV using the Dvd remote, changing the tv display, recall upto 6 dvds you've played in the past and continue from where you left off, audo presets and much more. I really love the remote. Fits snugly in your palm. Back to the dvd player. It has blue light which perfectly contrasts with the black color.

Must have for your HDTV
I dont want to spend $34.00/one bluraymovie.
I want to see all my DVDs collection on HD.
I dont want to spend $400.00+ for PS3 or other HD players.
With $80.00 i dont have to worry anymore, my HD dream come true!

Get One!
This really works! I had my doubts, but this is great technology. I am an avid movie watcher and have owned a Sony Ps3 (which I partially purchased to play Bluray movies.)
The up sampling on this player works like a charm, with regular DVD's. As a matter of fact, in my opinion Bluray looks annoyingly like a video game and up sampling looks better!
Save your money and beat the system! This will make you happy you got a flat screen with an HDMI input! The price is very cheap and this will remind you why you purchased that big flat screen in the first place. (really)

An inexpensive way to greatly improve picture quality
I recently purchased a Panasonic 50" plasma 1080p HDTV. I have a fair number of DVD's and was slightly disappointed with the picture quality via my old DVD player. After becoming aware of these upconverting or upscaling DVD players, I began doing a little research, as I'm not quite ready to spring for a BluRay player, and purchased the Sony NS700H. The improvement in the picture quality is striking. I couldn't be more pleased, given the price of this unit.

I spoke with several video geeks, even a couple in the box stores, and all told me the same thing -- this type of DVD player will work best with a 1080p TV and an HDMI connection. Since this is the configuration I have, it works beautifully.
