We expected quality from this TV, but it is absolutely fantastic!
We can not get anything done since it arrived last week - our eyes are glued to it!

My anticipated concerns were
1. the touch of color - not a problem and not even noticed
2. Stationary base - no problem. easy to adjust and move if one needs to.
3. Ceva shipping - could not have been better. With free shipping I got the TV in 4 days and they were most accomodating in meeting my time requests. The set up includes taking it out of the box, placing it where you want it in your home, checking for physical damage and making sure sound is heard and it turns on. The rest of the set up is up to you. They were great.

It was recommended to buy Monster HDMI 1000HD ultra-high speed HDMI cable and Monster HTS 1000 MKII or III powercenter with clean power stage 2 to receive the ultimate HD quality of the TV. So we did and they work perfectly with this tv.

And for those who are remote challenged.......a logitech harmony one universal remote is a no brainer to use.

We love this TV and would recommend it to those looking for a quality LCD TV. Who needs to go to the theater when you have this in your home!

The HD Picture Is So Lifelike It Makes You Part Of The TV
The HD channels and 1080p playback of DVD's is just so amazing with the 120Hz picture. Delivery was on time and we unpacked the TV, fired it up and the delivery guy waited to make sure it worked properly. I had a RCA rear projection for 3 years but it broke down 2 times in the last 6 mos. and the cost to repair was half the price of the Samsung. I reviewed alot of LCD tv's for about 7mos. and one visit to a local store with this TV on display was all it took. It's hard to get my outside work done esp. when sports are on because the awesome picture draws you to it so you don't want to leave. I enjoy all of the features and most of all the picture-in-picture. I looked at the Sony's but Samsung was the better value for the money.

Great product !!!
Awesome TV. Picture quality is fantastic. Now if I could only figure out the right encoding to stream movies to the TV, documentation is not specific enough... The built-in speakers are just OK. We are thinking of getting one of those Surround all-in -one bars...
Also my wife thought that the Red Touch of color border would light up. Not the case.

Major design flaw
I purchased the 750 series after doing a lot of research and reading a lot of reviews. There was some comment on the "halo effect" but I figured how bad could it be. Before I ordered it I went to the box store to check it out but there is so much fluorescent light and action in those stores that you cannot tell. I just had the delivery company to my house yesterday to pick up and return the TV. Believe me I would not have gone through the hassle of returning this if I truly didnt think it ruined the set. This is not a minor reflection or glow only in a dark room, it is like watching another picture outside of the picture. There is action on all sides of the bezel even in daylight. It is especially noticeable watching sports or other programs where the full screen is taken up by the picture. I called Samsung and they put me in touch with a repair person who basically said there is nothing he can do until Samsung comes up with a fix. He indicated he is swamped with inquires on how to fix this. I read some stuff about putting black tape on the back side of the TV. This will not work as the reflection appears on the front side of the bezel. It is truly a serious design flaw and an absolute shame, because the picture quality of the set was fantastic. The sound was great. The features were great. The TV has great "guts" just a terrible design. Once the 750 gets logged in as returned, I will be ordering the 650 model. Unfortunately from the looks of it the 800 series has the same design as the 700. Hope this helps.

Bought it - loved it - returned it when the price dropped
Great TV - no complaints about quality. Price dropped by ~$200 within 30 days of purchase and even with a return shipping fee (~$55) it saves me money to return it and reorder it at the less expensive price. I never saw a notice about the end of the 30 day price protection policy effective as of 01 Sept when I put in my order on 07 Sept. Bad policy Amazon!

Touchscreen Display Smartphone – A Samsung’s New iPhone Killer

samsunginstinct.jpgLast week Samsung and Sprint introduced the Samsung Instinct at CTIA (the wireless conference in Las Vegas). They truly believe that this innovation would become an iPhone killer. It's a candy-bar shaped and stylish smartphone with a large touchscreen display and no keypad. All the experts at the conference were really impressed with its features, but not all would agree with their challenging statement to kill iPhone with Samsung instinct. Surely it needs time to prove their instincts.

Let’s see its pros and cons from critics:

  • The Instinct is on a 3G data network and has real GPS, iPhone lacks it.
  • It won't have OS X or iTunes.
  • The Instinct can use Sprint’s EV-DO mobile broadband network for zippier download speeds.
  • GPS showed great quality, but the web browser was clunky and sometimes failed to load applications.
  • Still a little rough around the edges.
  • The design front is good, but the Instinct can't quite match Apple's device in style.
  • 3G data support (via Sprint's EVDO network), plenty of customization features, the possibility of third-party support via Java/Brew.
  • Price claimed to be lower than on average iPhones, but Sprint will require those who purchase the device to choose one of its latest unlimited plans (claimed 70$ per month).

Let’s see Samsung's touchscreen smartphone specifications:

  • HTML Web browsing
