Moving objects with your mind: Emotiv EPOC
After having watch “X-men” for the first time in my life, I wanted to be gifted or possess some talent to control others and read their thoughts. And a sure thing even now I consider telepathic technique as great abilities a man ever had. I don’t out on airs, but there’s no harm in dreaming.
Australian company Emotiv represented the EPOC neuro-headset that allows gamers to control a video game using their thoughts, emotions and feelings. Great news for gamers to interact with virtual worlds using their brain.
According to president of US/Australian firm Emotiv Tan Le, EPOC picks up electrical activity from the brain and sends wireless signals to a computer, thereby allowing user to manipulate a game or virtual environment naturally and intuitively.

By the way, the EPOC technology enables to give shape avatars of gamers their real facial expressions, emotions and actions (more than 30). However, gamer’s smile, grief, happiness, anger, frustration, tension, various movements could betray them. The other side of the coin is moving objects with your mind.
Late this year the gadget will be available for $299.
This technological breakthrough brings closer the day when the plot of “The Lawnmower Man” movie becomes realistic. We can’t but confirm that virtual worlds (including appropriate devices) are getting more and more popular at a reasonable price.

Advantages of Mobile Phones: Watch TV via PacketVideo
Till recently I was thinking that watching TV online is hardly possible to realize without special software and devices as compared with mobile TV phones. In fact, I wasn’t curious. And it’s really so, but such gadgets are in limited supply yet. In my poor opinion, watching movies on small screens is sacrilege (depends on the size). Anyway, there’s always an exception to the rule.
However, if you can’t live without your favorite TV shows and video clips and ready for eye straining, you are in luck’s way. It is no coincidence that I came across the PacketVideo Mobile Broadcast Receiver. My friend was interested in a thingamajc that’s capable of receiving a digital TV signal and can be used on his mobile appropriately. Here it is!↓

So what advantages of using mobile phones we can get by means of the Packet Video Mobile Broadcast Receiver?
- It decodes a digital TV signal and readjust it for use on the phone
- Can send information via WiFi to a playback device
- It provides secure access to premium channels (including porno?)
- Users of mobile phones with this device enable to upgrade mobile TV services without changing their tube (aka if you die, you leave fond memories of yourself)
- Available in versions for all major mobile broadcast standards (TDtv, DVB-H, MediaFLO, WiMAX)
- Compatible with a great many industry-leading cell phones like Nokia N-series, Apple iPhone, РЕС smartphones
- It measures 6.4 cm wide by 1.8 cm high x 4 cm deep

No price yet, but the Packet Video Mobile Broadcast Receiver will be available later this year. So, you’ve got a chance to buy a portable media player as far as possible with a wide screen (like Apple) and check it out.
Apple To Create a Portable Gaming Device
According to several unconfirmed report, Apple Inc. is planning to create an uberstylish portable gaming device. At present this gadget is in strict confidence. Probably, it’s just a marketing step to attain a heightened interest to Steve Job’s daring innovations, otherwise the product will boggle our mind and we won’t be indifferent. This rumor sounds great for gaming fans!
It would be interested to know that Apple is looking for coders with C/C++ experience and a gaming background to work in the iTunes division. What does it mean? Who are those lucky guys capable of biting into an Apple? On the other side, they just want to improve and add gaming functionality of some sort to a new device.
It is expected that Apple will enter the hand-held games market. Not long ago patent applications have requested patent protection with the code word “APPLE” “for products that classify as “Toys, games and playthings, namely, hand-held units for playing electronic games; hand-held units for playing video games; stand alone video game machines; electronic games other than those adapted for use with television receivers only; LCD game machines; electronic educational game machines; toys, namely battery-powered computer games.”
Sure thing, Apple works out plans and methods to extend its sphere of influence. It goes without saying that video games industry takes on online entertainment consuming activities like movies and music. Remove your competitors and win the sympathy of users. And it must be said that Apple never misses the opportunity to take the first place standing high in consumers’ esteem.

Apple Sell Air: Laptop MacBook

After Apple made the most letters out of alphabet widely using ‘i’, they switched over to other nice words. Some weeks back Apple presented a new laptop named the MacBook Air. Currently it’s the world’s slimmest notebook. According to Apple designers, MacBook Air is ultrathin, ultraportable, and ultra unlike anything else.
It would be interesting to know, that Steve Jobs took the Apple MacBook out of a mailing envelope introducing this new gadget. It’s priced starting at $1,799 and should be on sale by this time. As far as I know, EU countries can buy it at a higher price.
Features:
* 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display
* 1280×800 pixel resolution
* backlighting saves power and provides “instant on” response
* weighs about 3 pounds
* 0.16-0.76 inches thickness
* 12.8 inches wide and 8.95 inches deep
* built-in iSight webcam
* 1.8-inch hard disk drive with 80GB of storage capacity
* Intel Core 2 Duo chip running at 1.6GHz
* slimmed down MagSafe connector for power
* 802.11n-based wireless networking support
* Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
* 5 hours of battery life
The device is really impressive and the thinnest in the world. The more I know about the MacBook Air, the more I wanna get it in spite of the fact that no internal optical drive is included. By the way, the laptop is truly created for Greenpeace supporters, because it has a mercury-free display with arsenic-free glass, the circuit boards are BFR-free and PVC-free.
